Great Plains 107 Squadron Article in Winter 2014 "Wings of Gold" magazine

The squadron was pleased to have an article published in the Wings of Gold magazine (Winter edition) 2014. Much of the article focused on activities and local area engagements the squadron has supported over the past year of its existence.

Sept 2014 Deer Springs Winery Gathering

Teamed with the Navy League, Submarine Veterans and Reserve Officer's Association; the Great Plains 107 Squadron participated in the Fall gathering and group meeting. The weather couldn't have been better and the food, wine and live music were outstanding. This event brings members of Naval Service together to tell Sea Stories, sample local winery fare and enjoy the camaraderie of others who lived on, above or under salt water!

We plan to make our visits to the winery an annual event for ANA and call it an official squadron meeting.

Please feel free to participate; bring your wives, husbands, friends and neighbors - the more the merrier!

May 2014 Golf Outing and Scholarship Recognition

The second annual golf outing and fund raiser was a huge success. More FUN, golfers and sponsors meant greater participation and additional funds became available for support of our active duty, retired, reserve and ROTC teams. We were honored to have teams from USSTRATCOM and local industry involved in both play and sponsorship. Included in that group was a foursome headed by Mr John Knicely of Channel six news.

The winner of this year's event was a repeat; USSTRATCOM J73 team "Bertamus" took top honors and have promised to be back to defend their title in 2015.

Thanks to all participants, sponsors and volunteer workers.

Additionally, as part of the event kick-off; Butch Kirkland, Navy League Commander; awarded a joint ANA and Navy League scholarship to the Papillion-LaVista South High School select graduate. Well Done!
