Deer Springs Winery - Fall Social

ANA; teamed with Navy League, Retired Officer's Association, and Submarine Vets enjoyed a great evening of music, food, wine and best of all - socializing with a group of individuals who are like-minded with regard to supporting our active duty and reserve military.

On a beautiful Fall evening, sixty individuals came together; shared sea stories and plans for a growing future in the Nebraska heartland.

I would be remiss not to thank Deer Springs, our caterer and the Guitar Trio for making the evening both enjoyable and memorable.

The award for the most attendees goes to the Submarine Vets who recurited the largest number of participants. Many thanks to all who were there and in particular to the USSTRATCOM J3 and his spouse who joined in on the fun.

We would like to make next year's event even bigger and perhaps tie it to a formal USSTRATCOM or other sponsored event like the STRATCOM birthday or Navy birthday ball.

If you have any feedback on ways to enhance next year's event; please pass them along.

Family and Friends Social at Deer Springs Winery

The Deer Springs Winery visit, scheduled for Sunday, the 22nd of Sept, is shaping up with food, wine, and live entertainment for around $25 a head. This event is all about socializing and recuriting interested individuals for membership and/or involvement in military support organizations like Navy League, Reserve Officers Association, Sub Vets, and the Association of Naval Aviation.

It will be open, by invitation, to all local military affiliated support organizations, and sponsored friends, neighbors and family (we need to know who is coming and have payment by 13 Sept RSVP date). Sponsorship and payment can be made through your organizational sponsor; Navy League, Retired Officer's Association, Submarine Vets, and Association of Naval Aviation members.

Please make plans to attend on Sunday, the 22nd of Sept '13 for what promises to be a very enjoyable and most memorable event. RSVP through your sponsor contact who will provide a final head-count and payment no later than 13 Sep '13.

This promises to be a great early Fall opportunity to enjoy food, song and wine; while getting to know a little more about the volunteer orngaizations who support our active and reserve military and local ROTC!

First Annual Navy Leage & Great Plains 107 Sq Golf Outing

Our 03 May event was postponed due to unseasonable Spring conditions (snow in May!) so I'm revising this announcement with the new date.  From Spring to Summer fun - we have the opportunity to increase the number of golfers and sponsors!  Please recruit both!

Mark your calendars; Navy League and GP 107 Sq are planning a Friday,  03 May  Friday, 26 July 2013 at 1100 hrs  Golf Outing at Willow Lakes Golf Course.
Plan on joining us for a lunch,18 holes of Texas Scramble, and  prizes.  The 26 July '13 ANA only event has been expanded and we are now teaming with other Navy and Military focused organizations for a more comprehensive and inclusive tournament and fund raiser.

April '13 Meeting Minutes

We had a good turnout for our April meeting and focused on two prime issues:
- the status of our tax free submission is progressing with Diamond doing yeoman's work navigating his way through the bureaucracy and paper work.  Thanks for the update and keep pressing.
- Spring golf outing update and appeal for help with setup and tear-down.  Additionally, discussion of hole sponsors, players and challenges between foursomes.

Additional topics discussed included;
- Lead and follow organizational construct with Navy League and others
- Sep outing to Deer Springs for all Navy associated support organizations as a mixer and recruiting effort
- New member update
- Emailing list update for National ANA

Next meeting anticipated in Aug where the Skipper will work to invite other Navy supporting organizational  representation/leadership to address the lead-follow concept, other activities (USS OMAHA project), and invitations to the Sept Deer Springs.
